CONCORD

Concord is a central Contra Costa hub with a more “suburban-but-connected” feel, popular for families and commuters who want easy East Bay access (BART/highways) plus parks, shopping, and a growing downtown scene.

Concord is a diverse East Bay community where many cultures and backgrounds shape day-to-day life. Residents identify with a wide range of racial and ethnic groups—most commonly White and Asian—and the city is also home to a significant Hispanic/Latino population (about a third of residents). You’ll also find a mix of family roots and ancestries reflected throughout the community, including English, German, Irish, Italian, and broader European heritage.

Concord’s diversity is further strengthened by its international ties: more than a quarter of residents were born outside the U.S., adding to the city’s global perspective and local character.

English is the primary language spoken in Concord, with Spanish and Tagalog also widely spoken across the community.
